Endorphins in Management of Diabetes and Hypertension

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder where relative reduction or complete reduction in the production of insulin results in increase in blood sugar level. Two types of diabetes one is NIDDM (Non insulin dependent diabetes mellitus), where it is seen above 40 years of age due to insulin resistance. Other type of diabetes is IDDM (Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus) also known as juvenile diabetes, it is seen below 40 years of age due to destruction of β cells of Langerhans cells of pancreas.
