On November 23, 2022, a cruel morning greeting swept over Ukraine. Together with the air raid sirens shrieking, came a carpet of bombs spread across the country. Beginning in the eastern areas and a little later in the capital, Ukraine was attacked by 70 enemy missiles, 31 of them aimed at Kyiv. A majority of the rockets were shot down by the armed forces of Ukraine. Some hit the power system in addition to civilian targets, which led to a complete blackout in the capital. For this reason, the international annual congress of the “Ukrainian Alliance of Ophthalmologists”, which took place on November 25 - 26 in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, became a surreal event of 2022. The organizing team managed the almost impossible. The “OphthalmicHUB”, which took place as an hybrid congress with international participation, was extremely successful.
