What is oocyte?

Oocyte is a female germ cell which is involved in reproduction. This oocyte fuse with sperm cell to form an embryo.

What is oocyte cryopreservation?

Oocyte cryopreservation is also known as oocyte or egg freezing for future use. This is also called as fertility preservation.

Why oocyte preservation?

Oocyte freezing helps women in future pregnancy. Especially oocyte freezing recommended for those patients who are diagnosed with cancer and about to undergo with chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Many patients also have their individual choice of not freezing embryos. Also adding to it, if husband is diagnosed with HBsAG+ or Azoospermia. Additionally, family history also matters, early menopause or diagnosed with severe low AMH value at early age which leads to oocyte preservation.
